東京音楽大学声楽演奏家コース卒業。同大学院修士課程を優等で卒業。フィンランド在住時にクリスチャン名、Yoko-Maria Tsukudaに改名。これまでに数多くの国際コンクールで最高位入賞。大学院卒業後、シベリウスを含む北欧歌曲を研鑽。シューベルティアーデ国際マイスターグルセに合格し、エリサベート・シュワルツコップ女授に師事。チャイコフスキー記念ロシア国立モスクワ音楽院にて研鑽。P・スクニチェンコ氏に師事。フィンランド作曲家のレパートリーは、シベリウス、ラウタウ゛ァーラ、A.メリカント・マデトヤ・クーラ、キルピネン、カスキ・サッリネンなど６００曲以上。ドイツではカールスルーエ音楽大学に留学。フィンランドで北欧の歌曲王と呼ばれるヨルマ・ヒュンニネン氏に師事。EUの中で、一番難しいと言われるフィンランド国家の永遠のKELA(永住市民権)を取得。芸術性のみで国の権利を、わずか2年間で取得した声楽家は珍しい。2007年第13回チャイコフスキー国際コンクール世界大会の声楽部門日本代表。
クラシック歌手でありながら、その枠にとらわれずに、新しい世界を生み出す分野にチャレンジをしている。その分野は、幅広い、古き良き日本の情景を表現する童謡、映画音楽、聖なる教会音楽、オペラのアレンジ、それらの歌は、現代の疲れた心を癒し、人々に情熱と生きる勇気と希望を与える。そして私の使命の一つはまだ日本人が知らぬ、原点の北欧フィンランドの普及に努めている事である
Yoko-Maria Tsukuda was born and raised in Japan. She studied vocal music with Echiko Narita at the Tokyo College of Music and at its graduate school, from where she graduated as top the prestigious performer class in the Spring of 2002. She has participated several master classes and has been awarded at numerous national and international competitions. As a student she sang various mezzo soprano roles (including the title role of Carmen) at the Tokyo College of Music student opera. After graduation Yoko-Maria moved to Finland to study with baritone Jorma Hynninen, and in Finland she changed her Fach to soprano. She has also studied with Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, Mitsuko Shirai, and Pyotr Skoushnichenko. Her repertoire as lyric soprano includes e.g. the title role of Rusalka, Mimi from La Boheme, and Riika from Punainen Viiva (The Red Line) by Aulis Sallinen. As a Lied singer Yoko-Maria has a wide repertoire of German Lieder, French songs and Russian romances, and she is known as the pioneer of Finnish vocal music in Japan. She regula
